Events we've attended

Tastings, panels and pitches where we have put Bambara in front of people and let the food do the talking.

CIC Berlin

A breakfast celebrating food and entrepreneurship

On 18 February 2026, Tsarona joined CIC Berlin's community breakfast as part of its Black History Month programme, alongside Run-n-Rave.

Kamogelo introduced the story behind Tsarona, while the breakfast brought Bambara to the table through savoury food, porridges and energy bites. It was an opportunity to connect the founder's journey with something the community could experience together: the food itself.

Venture Café Berlin

Getting to know Bambara through food

We've returned to Venture Café Berlin several times to introduce Tsarona through tastings and product demonstrations.

Our table has featured Bambara hummus, snacks and early drinks, showing different ways to work with the ingredient. These gatherings bring our work into a shared space where people can taste the food, meet the founder and get to know the crop behind it.

GreenTech Festival

Food systems on the main stage

At GreenTech Festival in Berlin in May 2025, Tsarona founder Kamogelo Thumankwe joined the panel "Food for Thought: Will Tech Solve Our Growing Food Crisis?"

The discussion explored technology's role in addressing food-system challenges. Kamogelo's participation connected her work building Tsarona with the wider conversation about climate, food innovation and the future of what we eat.

Food Innovation Camp

Recognition for Tsarona

At Food Innovation Camp 2025, we exhibited Tsarona's products and pitched the business to an audience from across the food industry.

A highlight was receiving the Eat Smarter media package worth €30,000. The event brought together product tastings, our founder pitch and industry conversations, a milestone in introducing Tsarona and Bambara to a wider audience.

Plant FWD

Presenting Bambara to the plant-based food industry

On 9 April 2026, Kamogelo presented Tsarona in the startup pitch programme at Plant FWD in Barneveld, the Netherlands.

The pitch introduced our work with Bambara groundnut to the plant-based food community, bringing an African crop and the business being built around it into the conversation about future food ingredients and products.

Waste2Plate

Developing the business around the food

Tsarona participated in the second cohort of Waste2Plate, a programme supported by EIT Food, with activities in the Netherlands.

The programme offered workshops, resources and coaching for food entrepreneurs, including branding and marketing support. Our photographs capture an early chapter of Tsarona's product development, including the drinks that formed part of our journey before the current focus on snacks and ingredients.
