The future of food is not being invented. It is being reconnected.
While the industry builds labs to replace what Africa grows, Tsarona built the supply chain to bring it directly to the world. Bambara groundnut, climate-tested for 4,000 years, commercially available in Europe for the first time.
Europe's protein supply chain was built for a world that no longer exists.
Of European plant-based products depend on just four crops, soy, pea, wheat, and oat. One drought, one regulation, and the whole system fractures.
Climate change directly threatens soy and pea yields. The ingredients the industry depends on are becoming unreliable.
Every alternative crop passes through multiple middlemen before a factory sees it. Margins vanish, traceability is impossible, farmers earn almost nothing.
The industry is optimising a broken system. Someone had to replace it.
Bambara groundnut. Climate-tested for 4,000 years. Commercially available in Europe for the first time.
Not a lab invention. Not a processed alternative. A crop that already solved the problems the food industry is still trying to fix.
Complete Protein
All nine essential amino acids, matching soy's profile without the deforestation, allergen concerns, or supply-chain fragility.
Climate Proof
Nitrogen-fixing and drought-tolerant. Thrives in degraded soils where every other protein crop fails. Zero synthetic fertilisers.
Clean Taste
Naturally creamy and nutty. No bitter off-notes, no masking agents, no heavy processing. Good from the first batch.
EU Approved
Authorised as Traditional Food under EU Regulation 2024/2047. The regulatory barrier is cleared, we hold first-mover position.
We didn't discover Bambara. We built the system to bring it to the world.
5,000+ farmers
Direct trade with smallholder farmers across Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, and Ghana. Ministry of Agriculture MOU. NARDI commercialisation partnership.
Proprietary 3-step protocol
Precision dehulling, controlled roasting, fat-fraction emulsification. No commercial processing standard existed for Bambara in Europe, we built it.
Every batch, every farmer
Farm-level data connected directly to EU co-manufacturers. Full import compliance, quality control at every stage, every batch traceable to its source.
5,000+ farmers · 11 African countries · Government MOUs · 18 months of proprietary R&D
Built from zero. Zero outside investment. Zero compromise.
Validated demand & secured B2B clients including N26 and Vabali.
Kamogelo Thumankwe · Founder
Built by someone who grew up with the crop.
Kamogelo Thumankwe grew up in Botswana eating Bambara groundnut. She moved to Berlin, saw a broken food system built on four fragile crops, and went home to build the supply chain that didn't exist.
The Ministry of Agriculture MOU, the NARDI partnership, the farmer cooperatives, the processing protocols, the regulatory clearance, none of this exists without a founder who grew up with this crop. That is not a replicable advantage. It is a permanent one.
The supply chain exists because of who built it, and where she's from.
Join the next generation of food.
Tsarona is building the global platform for Africa's forgotten, climate-resilient supercrops. We've validated demand with our first Bambara product, 1,200 tasters, 95% purchase intent, and secured B2B clients including N26 and Vabali.
We are raising a €500,000 pre-seed round to fund our first commercial Bamba Chocolate production run, finalise EU compliance, and expand the core operations team.
